Notes: This species has a rather slender glabrescent habit, thin-textured medium-sized obovate leaves, inflorescences in short cymes borne with or more often below the leaves, rather small corollas, and ellipsoid fruits. Hoffmannia dusenii has been synonymized with Hoffmannia peckei by several authors, however it has been separated by others. Inclusion of Hoffmannia dusenii within the circumscription of Hoffmannia peckii gives the combined species a notable range of variation in calyx lobe length and leaf size, which is certainly not unknown in Hoffmannia. Plants from Argentina included in in this species have unusually long calyx lobes, and may deserve further evaluation as to their identity including re-evaluation of Hoffmannia dusenii.
Distribution: At 600-700 m, southeastern Brazil.
