Notes: This species has a rather slender glabrescent habit, medium-sized thin-textured leaves, pedunculate cymose inflorescences borne with the leaves, shortly pedicellate flowers, shortly tubular cream to pinkish orange corollas 5-7 mm long, and small subglobose red fruits. The leaves have a somewhat distinctive dried aspect, weakly bullate and somewhat stiff with a pale brown color. Hoffmannia hondurensis is similar to Hoffmannia hammelii, Hoffmannia davidsoniae, and Hoffmannia nicotianifolia, and vegetatively similar to Hoffmannia inamoena.
Distribution: At 20-500 m, Guatemala through Panama though infrequently collected.
