This species is similar to Ladenbergia macrocarpa in general aspect, but L. macrocarpa can be separated by its leaves that are densely pubescenct on the lower surface and its calyptrate stipules, vs. the leaves glabrous on the lower surface and the stipules interpetiolar in L. moritziana.
