Notes:
This species was described based on a fruiting specimen with relatively large, dehisced capsules. This name was synonymized by Andersson (1994) with Macrocnemum roseum, who considered all the plants of Peru and Bolivia to belong to that species. If more than one species is found in this region then the type of this name may need re-checking as to its identity.
