Notas :
This species is widespread and commonly collected, especially in Peru. It shows a bit of variation across its range in several features including pubescence and size and degree of lobing of the calyx limb, but Andersson (1994) showed that no subgroups can be distinguished across most of its range and synonymized a number of previously poorly known
Macrocnemum
names.
Macrocnemum roseum
is here separated from
Macrocnemum tortuosum
of Bolivia, see the web page for this other species for their distinction.
Distribución :
Wet and humid seasonal forests at 0-1500 m, southern Central America (Costa Rica, Panama) and western South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, western Brazil, Bolivia).
