Notes:
This species is known from wet vegetation a relatively small range in Ecuador, and has not been well documented. It is notable for its robust habit, with relatively large leaves, inflorescences, and fruits; the inflorescences have the secondary axes in verticils of 4 or 6. It is similar to Psychotria rimbachii and Psychotria jamesoniana.
