Distribution: Brazil

Note: Delprete & Kirkbride, 2016: 434, noted that the one collection cited in the protologue of this name was Pohl 2053, and that the type discussion by Steyerrmark (1972: 643) confused this with Psychotria tricholoba and cited the types of that name. Delprete & Kirkbride then reported locating one specimen of the type collection in Mueller's herbarium at G [G00300454], and designated that as the lectoytype without comment about why it cannot be considered the holotype.
