Notes: This species is characterized by its medium-sized habit and its somewhat well developed lancolate to ovate stipules with laciniate margins. The inflorescences on the type specimen are shortly cymose and congested with flowers in young bud. However this inflorescence is evidently immature, and its short congested form may not match the mature form. The specimen Rimachi 1073, with a pedunculate branched infructescence, matches this type vegetatively and does not match any other species known from low elevations and is provisionally identified as Rudgea angustissima.
Distribution: Wet forest in at 375 m in eastern Peru (Junín).
