Notes:
This species is rather robust, and rather frequently collected in fruit in central Panama while the flowers are poorly known. It is generally similar to Guettarda brenesii and Guettarda sanblasensis. It may not be distinct from Guettarda tobagoensis, but the flowers of both of these are hardly documented and the two species, or populations, appear to be disjunct.
