Notes:

This species has a somewhat slender habit, ovate to elliptic leaves, short cymose inflorescences that are borne with the leaves, and rather small flowers with rotate yellow corollas. This species is known only from the type, which has flowers only in bud; it may not be distinct from Hoffmannia longipetiolata or Hoffmannia asperula.

Distribution: Known only from Cerro Pirre region of eastern Panama, on the border with Colombia. The exact location and elevation where this plant was found were not noted.
