Notas : This species is characterized by medium-sized petiolate elliptic leaves, shortly cymose terminal inflorescences, white to salmony-pink corollas with tubes 0.3-0.6 cm long, and purple-black fruits. Ixora nicaraguensis is similar to Ixora ferrea, of the Antilles and northern Venezuela, with axillary inflorescences. Ixora nicaraguensis is also similar to Ixora graciliflora of the Guianas and Ixora standleyana of northern Colombia.
Distribución : In wet lowland forest form Nicaragua to northwestern Colombia.
