Note
|
The holotype was annotated by Standley many years ago as Pentagonia magnifica Lehmann, a species orig- inally described from Lehmann 8886 from the Rio Timbique, Colombia. P. mag- nifica, however, has 5 unequal calycine lobes which are obtuse at the apex while in the new species the lobes are acute at the apex; P. magnifica has a much shorter corolla, has shorter staminal filaments, linear anthers, and a much shorter style.
