Notas : This species has sometimes been confused or combined with Calycophyllum multiflorum, but these two species have generally been considered distinct by most authors, including Schumann in the Flora of Brazil and Delprete for the Flora of Paraguay. Schumann named two forms of Calycophyllum spruceanum based on variation in the shape of the apex of the corolla in bud, but these forms do not seem distinct in today's view of systematics.
Distribución : Widespread in lowland wet forest in the Amazon basin, in Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.
