Small annual, 12-60 cm tall, whole plant ± papillose, specially stem, or white scabrid, internodes 3-8 cm long, uppermost elongated, 10-12 cm long. Leaves fascicled, 2-4 (-5) cm x 2-4 (-5) mm, linear, acute, margin revolute, minutely scabrid, glabrous above, glabrous-papillose beneath, midrib conspicuous; stipules ± triangular with 2-3 filiform-subulate appendages, 0.5-1.5 mm long. Inflorescence basally trichotomous, or dichasial or monochasial cyme. Flowers sessile. Calyx-tube c. 0.8 mm long, teeth ± triangular, acute, c. 0.5-0.7 mm long, glabrous. Corolla white or light blue, tube 2-2.5 (-3) mm long, narrow part 0.8-1 mm long and 0.6-0.8 mm wide, limb 0.8-1 mm long, subacute. Anthers c. 0.5 mm long, pollen 4-5-colporate, 15-19 pm long and 12-18 µm in diameter. Style 0.6 mm long; stigma 1.2-1.4 mm long, ± mostly touching the anthers. Capsule rough, globose, didymous, 3-4 mm in diameter. Seeds glutinose.
