Notes:
This species is characterized by its rather thin-textured, generally mediumg-sized leaves that dry with a greenish color; its short, shortly bidentate, deciduous stipules; its corymbiform, rather short and shorly pedunculate inflorescences that are generally not longer than the leaves and often shorter; its small, subsessile flowers; its small fruits; and its distribution in humid vegetation in northwestern Madagascar. Bremekamp included this species in his circumscription of Psychotria based on its pyrenes with a bisulcate adaxial furrow. The species is not well known, and the specimens included here are provisionally identified.
