Notes:
This species is characterized by its long narrow leaves with the venation only weakly visible and generally ellipsoid bacterial nodules that are scattered alongside the midrib, and rather short peduncles and inflorescences. It is known from southeastern Madagascar. An unidentified species of Chassalia is similar, but lacks nodules and has winged corollas and stipules that become hardened with age.
