Notes
:
This species is characterized by its low suffrutescent habit; its rather small, narrowly elliptic leaves; its small, solitary, sessile flowers; its small calyx limb; its slender white corollas with the tube 2.2-2.8 cm long; and its small fruits. This species is not well known. It is similar to several slender Ixora species with solitary subsessile flowers, in particular Ixora clandestina, with larger leaves usually broader leaves; Ixora littoralis with larger leaves, calyx limbs, and corollas; and Ixora sambiranensis with a rheophytic habit, generally smaller leaves, and a range in northern Madagascar; see De Block (2007) for more details and a key to separate several of these.
