Notas :

This species was characterized by Puff & Buchner (1994) by its stipules shortly united around the stem and with two broad lobes on each side, medium-sized leaves, short calyx lobes, and medium-sized corollas. It was not well known for some time, but recent botanical exploration has shown that it is more widespread. common, and and variable in inflorescence size than previously thought (Taylor et al., 2024), has yellow to red or orange short corollas, and Danais masoalana can no longer be separated from it.

Distribución : Moist forest at 0-1200 m, northeastern to southeastern Madagascar.
