Notas
:
Remijia argentea is characterized by its rather large (for Remijia), opposite, leathery leaves with numerous secondary veins, ca. 20-25 pairs, and the lower blade surface with closely reticulated prominulous venation and thickened to glaucous surfaces on the areoles, along with its generally robust habit, well developed silky pubescence(though this may be deciduous on some plants), well developed narrow bracts, and calyx limbs that are tubular, denticulate, and then irregularly split into one or two segments. Steyermark described these calyx limbs as spathaceous, but the limb is open in bud and dentate and splits irregularly rather than fused into a closed structure and splitting consistently along only one side. It is generally similar to several other Remijia species such as Remijia duckei but those lack this combination of features.
