This name is based on Browne's tab. 2 fig. 3, which was cited by Fawcett & Rendle as an illustration corresponding to Rondeletia racemosa Sw. Therefore this name is here synonymized under that name; it cannot be tranferred into this genus because the name Rondeletia americana L. (1753) was previously published for a different species.
