Distribution: Distribution: S.E. Mediterranean, extending up to Central Asia through Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Comment/Acknowledgements: Ehrendorfer (l.c.) has treated this taxon as a subspecies of Galium setaceum Lamk. However, in view of the clear cut differences in the shape of the corolla-lobes and the type and the density of the hairs on the fruit, Galium decaisnei Boiss. and Galium setaceum Lamk. are treated as two distinct species. Ascending up to 1500m.

Annual, erect herb. Stem slender, circular, young branches usually puberulous, otherwise glabrous. Leaves 6 in a whorl, 6-8 x 1-3 mm, narrowly linear, basal leaves obovate-oblanceolate, base of the upper leaves setaceous, revolute, glabrous-puberulous. Inflorescence of axillary and terminal cymes; peduncle 10-20 mm long, few-flowered; pedicel 3-6 mm long, filiform, glabrous. Flowers minute. Corolla white, lobes shortly apiculate or submuticous. Fruit subglobose, c. 1 mm in diameter, brownish, covered with short appressed white hairs, rarely glabrescent, mericarps mottled.
