Notes:
This species is characterized by its obovate shortly petiolate leaves, its truncate to rounded stipules with a spatulate glandular appendate, its pedunculate paniculiform inflorescences, and its medium-sized flowers and fruits. It is generally simliar to Rudgea amplexicaulis, and also Rudgea panamensis and Rudgea hemispherica but these last two have subsessile subcapitate inflorescences.
