Project Data     (Last Modified On 11/5/2014)
Notes: This species is similar to Palicourea marcgravii, and has been confused with it and also included in the circumscription of that other species. However Palicourea aeneofusca can be separated by its longer calyx lobes and corollas that are apparently yellow thoughout, rather than pink or purple at the tip as in Palicourea marcgravii. This species contains monofluoroacetate, a poison that causes Sudden Death Syndrome when eaten by cattle (Cook et al., 2014).
Distribution: Lowland Atlantic Forest vegetation of northeastern Brazil.
