Notas : This species is characterized by its petiolate medium-sized elliptic leaves, cymose inflorescences with developed axes and the flowers subsessile, and red corola with tubes 13-15 mm long. The leaves are rounded to cordulate at the base and sharply acuminate at the tips, and rather shiny and probably stiff-textured. This species was desribed from a specimen at B that Standley considered to be in rather poor condition, and which has been destroyed. The only documentation is now apparently the fragmentary isotype at F. This species appears to be similar to Ixora ulei, but the leaves do not match those of that species.
Distribución : Humid scrub vegetation at lowe elevations in northeastern Brazil (Pará).
