Notas :

This species is charecterized by occasional slender short spines, slender regularly branched stems, rather small leaves with the higher-order venation not visible or the tertiary venation loosely reticulated, slender peduncles with 1-5 subcapitate flowers, pale yellow or greenish yellow corollas ca. 25 mm long, and medium-sized fruits. This species was reported in the Ecuador Catalogue as known only from the type, but more specimens have been collected since then. Chomelia ecuadorensis seems to be similar to Chomelia polyantha.

Distribución : Dry to humid, seasonal forest at 0-130 m, coastal western Ecuador.
