Notes:
This species has a rather robust habit, petiolate elliptic leaves, cymose inflorescences borne with and below the leaves, rather well developed (for Hoffmannia) white to pink corollas with tubes 7-12 mm long and twice or more as long as the lobes, and subglobose fruits. The circumscription of this species probably deserves more study, including as to the synonym of Hoffmannia hamelioides. Hoffmannia arborescens is similar to Hoffmannia asclepiadea and Hoffmannia josefina.
