Annotation: As "Lindeni"; although described in apparent ignorance of Erythrochiton lindenii Planch. and thus not intended as a new combination, it may nonetheless be accepted as such according to ICBN Art. 33.3, because it applies to the same taxon (indeed, they are homotypic) and is otherwise a validly published name. Note that Kallunki (Brittonia 44: 119-120. 1992) took a different view, interpreting Toxosiphon lindenii as a separate nomenclatural entity (a new species name), heterotypic by virtue of having been ostensibly based on a different duplicate of Linden 1623.
