Wettstein should be attributed as the author of this combination (not Pennell as often stated) because he was clearly refering to a species published by Linneaus that can only have been Gratiola monnieri (L.) L., based on Lysimachia monnieri L. Orthographic variations in the endings applied to the epithet by different authors have no bearing on this (see ICBN Art. 33)
