In wood margins, hay fields, and alpine pastures at an elevation of 2900-3000 m.

E. pectinata Ten. is a highly polymorphic species and there is a wide range of variation in the shape and size of the leaves ranging from 4-14 x 2-11 mm, and may be ovate, trullate and sometimes elliptic and oblong in shape. But the variation seems to be continuous and it is difficult to recognize more than one taxon. This variation may owe to its wide range of distribution as indicated above.
