Type-Protologue
Locality: [New Mexico: Lincoln Co.], at the Mescalero Agency in the White Mountains, August 23, alt. 6300 feet, no. 376. I first saw this plant in the Organ Mountains, August 4, 1895, in Fillmore Canon at an altitude of 6300 feet, in company with Mr. E.N. Plank ... But this is by no means the first time it was collected ..."
