6. Bryum atrovirens Brid.   红蒴真藓   hong shuo zhen xian

Bryum erythrocarpum Schwaegr., Sp. Musc. Frond., Suppl. 1(2): 100. 1816, nom. illeg.
 
Plants small, up to 10 mm high, yellowish green to brownish green, in loose tufts. Stems short, usually simple. Lower leaves elongate-rounded; upper leaves rounded-ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 1.3–2.0 mm long, acuminate, slightly concave; margins recurved below, serrulate above, bordered by 2(–3) rows of linear cells; costae reddish brown, percurrent to shortly excurrent; median leaf cells hexagonal, 42–60 µm × 13–17 µm; basal cells elongate. Dioicous. Setae stiff, 2.5–4.0 mm long, curved, reddish brown; capsules inclined to horizontal when dry, pendulous when moist, 2.5–4.0 mm × 0.8–1.1 mm, club-shaped to pyriform, reddish brown, glossy; neck well developed, as long as or slightly shorter than urn; exostome teeth densely papillose; endostome segments strongly perforate; cilia well developed, 2–3, as long as the segments, appendiculate. Spores 8–10 µm in diameter.
