Bryum cellulare, according to Ochi (1980) is gregarious or forming short tufts, leave ovate to oblong, deeply concave, apex obtuse to broadly acute, margins entire, plane or weakly reflexed below, costa percurrent to short excurrent, border weak, 1-2 celled, laminal cells thin-walled, upper cells large, 70-120 mm long, 20-25 mm wide, basal cells long rectangular, seta 20(30) mm long, capsule suberect to pendent, urn obloid-pyriforme, 2.5-3.5 mm long, endostomal segments slender, cilia rudimentary. This species has been reported from Venezuela and Ecuador but confirmation is required.
Bryum cellulare, de acuerdo a Ochi (1980) es greagaria o forma manojos cortos, hojas ovadas a oblongas, profundamente cóncavas, ápices obtusos a ampliamente agudos, márgenes enteros, planos o débilmente reflexos en la porción basal, costa percurrente a corto excurrente, borde débil, con 1-2 células, células de la lámina con paredes delgadas, células superiores grandes, 70-120 mm de largo, 20-25 mm de ancho, células basales largo rectangulares, setas 20(30) mm de largo, cápsulas suberectas a pendientes, urna obloide-piriforme, 2.5-3.5 mm de largo, segmentos del endostoma delgados, cilios rudimentarios.
