Plants very small, barely more than 2 mm high, silvery, in dense tufts. Stems extremely short, julaceous, densely foliate, branched by annual innovations, with dark brown rhizoids at base. Leaves imbricate, oblong-ovate, slenderly acuminate to piliform at apex; margins plane, nearly entire; costae shortly excurrent; median leaf cells narrowly rhomboidal, sublinear to linear, upper cells hyaline; basal cells shortly rectangular. Dioicous. Setae ca. 7.0 mm long, dark reddish; capsules small, subglobose, sub-pendulous; opercula not seen; peristome double; exostome teeth lanceolate, ca. 180 µm long, yellowish brown, slightly papillose; endostome segments yellowish, slightly papillose; basal membrane high, ca. 1/2 the length of the segments, scarcely perforate; cilia rudimentary. Spores small, 7–10 µm in diameter, dark brown, slightly papillose.
