Plants are similar to those of Brachymenium exile, but differ from the latter by the sporophytes. Dioicous. Setae ca. 20 mm long, dark brownish; capsules erect or suberect, ovoid to elongate-ovoid, dark brown, mouth small; opercula conic, bluntly apiculate; peristome double; exostome teeth densely papillose; endostome segments well developed; cilia irregularly positioned. Spores spherical, 10–12 µm in diameter.
