Plants small, ca. 10 mm high, green, yellowish green or brown, in loose or dense tufts. Stems erect, branched. Leaves loose when dry, erect-spreading when moist, ca. 5 mm long, acuminate at apex; margins entire, not decurrent at base, bordered by several rows of linear cells, yellowish brown, 2–3-stratose; costae percurrent or shortly excurrent; leaf cells lax, thin-walled, oblong-hexagonal or shortly rhomboidal. Autoicous. Setae elongate; capsules horizontal or pendulous, elongate club-shaped to pyriform; neck as long as or shorter than urn; mouth oblique, asymmetric; exostome teeth yellowish brown; endostome segments broad; cilia absent or rudimentary. Spores 16–29 µm in diameter.
