Plants rather slender, pale green above, whitish to grayish green below, in compact tufts. Stem cortex in 1 layer, hyaline cells without fibrils; central cylinder yellowish brown. Stem leaves ca. 1.0 mm × 0.6 mm, triangular-ligulate, rounded obtuse and lacerate at the apex; borders narrow, almost evenly throughout; hyaline cells linear rhomboidal, with fibrils and small, ringed pores along commissural rows or at the opposite ends in the upper half, with pores at the corners in the lower half on the ventral surface, rarely with pores on the dorsal surface. Branches in fascicles of 4, with 2 spreading, attenuate at the tips. Branch leaves 1.3–1.6 mm × 0.5–0.6 mm, loosely arranged and secund, ovate-lanceolate, blunt, dentate at the apex, margins slightly involute, borders narrowly differentiated; hyaline cells linear-rhomboidal, densely fibrillose, with pores at the upper angle or opposite ends in the upper cells, fewer pores in the lower half on the dorsal surface, almost without pores on the ventral surface; green cells in cross section narrowly elliptic, centrally located. Dioicous. Sporophytes not seen.
