      Ecology: Transitional lowland to premontane forest; on rocks, exposed roots and base of trees. Elevation: 600 m. Distribution: Presently recorded from Venezuela among the tropical Andean countries, Mexico, Central America (Belize), West Indies, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and disjunct to southern Chile.
