Note
|
Lysiclesia may be recognized by the three large calyx lobes and short, alternately unequal stamens with poroid dehiscence. In this last character, Lysiclesia resembles Orthaea to which it is seemingly most closely related. Lysiclesia is a neotropical genus with three closely related species, two in Colombia and one in Panama. Each species is known only from its type collec- tion, and therefore, little is known about the variation within the genus.
