General/Distribution: A small genus with 1 (or 2) species widely distributed in the Northern hemisphere. Probably monotypic.

Rather small plants with palmate, often only 2-parted tuberoids and leafy stem. Inflorescence dense. Bracts herbaceous, exceeding flowers. Flowers small, green or brownish. Perianth segments ± connivent. Labellum shortly spurred, hanging downwards, strap-shaped, 3-dentate at apex, at base provided with 3 slightly prominent keels. Spur saccate, much shorter than ovary. Column short, broad; anther erect, loculi slightly divergent downwards; pollinia 2, sectile, with Short ribbon-shaped caudicles, attached to small, separate viscid glands, which are enclosed in a fragile membrane; rostellum lowly arched between the anther-loculi; stigma concave, entire. Ovary sessile, twisted.
