Notes:
- The species Angraecum gracile Thouars was wrongly indicated as from Madagascar, it is endemic to Mauritius (Droissart et al., 2010).
- Some species of Angraecum (A. caulescens, A. coriaceum, A. cowani, A. florulentum, A. grandidierianum, A. implicatum, A. scottianum) are dubious, records from Madagascar are likely to be misidentifications, or species not well-known.
- Some species have been transferred to segregate genera, but ongoing work raises doubts about the merit of some of these due to suspected polyphyly and paraphyly, we prefer to keep the genus "sensu lato" until these studies are complete.
- The identity of the plant described as Lesliegraecum elzbietae is in doubt, and the rather poor type material is currently identified as Angraecum cf. tenellum. This plant may merit recognition as a distinct species, but additional material and further study are required. However, no combination for this name currently exists in Angraecum.
