General/Distribution: A genus of 6 to 8 species found in the dry desert areas of Iran, Central Asia, Afghanistan, W. Pakistan and India.

Plants annual. Leaves 1-2-pinnate. Bracts and bractlets scarious, whitish, linear to lanceolate or oval. Rays 5-15. Calyx teeth obsolete. Petals white to rose coloured, bilobed. Fruit ovoid, densely hairy to hispid; primary and second¬ary ridges distinct; vittae solitary under the secondary ridges; commissure 2-vittate. Inner seed face plane to slightly concave.
