Annual or perennial, prostrate–suberect herbs. Leaves lyrate–pinnatifid or serrate–dentate.Capitula disciform, solitary or laxly corymbose. Involucre conical or campanulate, phyllaries 1–3–seriate, slightly unequal, herbaceous, inner phyllaries scarious at apex. Receptacle swollen, hemispherical or conical, epaleate. Ray florets in 2–several rows, yellow, female, filiform, narrowly tubular. Disc florets bisexual, yellow, campanulate or rotate, tubular below, with 4–5 widely spreading lobes. Anther bases ecaudate, apical appendages lanceolate. Style branches truncate with triangular appendages. Cypselas slightly compressed, ellipsoid–obovoid. Pappus absent or coronate.

A small genus, comprising of 10 species, distributed in tropical and North–east Africa, Madagascar and Tropical Asia. Represented in Pakistan by the following species.
