10. Aphanostephus DC. (lazydaisy)

(Shinners, 1946b; Turner, 1984)

Four species, U.S., Mexico.

Preliminary molecular studies (Noyes and Rieseberg, 1999; Noyes, 2000a) have suggested that Aphanostephus may represent a specialized species complex within Erigeron. In general appearance, it strongly resembles a small Erigeron.
