Description Sprawling, decumbent or sometimes spreading aninual herbs. Leaves alternate, simple, entire, petiolate or subpetiolate, exstipulate. Inflorescence extra-axillary or terminal, racemose, shortly pedicellate, bracteate. Flowers minute. Tepals 5, oblong, persistent and erect in fruit. Stamens 5, inserted at the base of the perianth, alternate with the tepals, the filament filiform, the anther dorsifixed. Ovary globose, 2-carpellate, unilocular, the styles 2, basally connate, the ovule 1, basifixed. Fruit a minute drupe, tuberculate, the pericarp adherent to the seed. Seed 1, the testa crustaceous, the embryo bent, the albumen scanty.
