Bracts ovate or lanceolate. Calyx 5-lobed, 3 lower lobes longer than the upper 2 (often appearing to be lower due to resupination). Corolla yellowish or purplish. Vexillum narrowed into a claw. Wing adhering to the keel. Stamens diadelphous, 9+1, anthers uniform. Ovary sessile or stipitate, 2-many ovuled. Fruit mostly enclosed in the persistent calyx, subsessile, constricted between the seeds, segments ovate, inflated, 1-seeded and indehiscent.
