Description
|
Trees, large or less frequently small. Leaves odd-pinnate, the leaflets usually opposite, entire or less frequently crenate or serrate, short-petiolulate. Inflorescences terminal or axillary, oo-flowered. Flowers small, hermaphriditic or male female; calyx-segments 5, imbricate, persistent, accrescent and scarious in fruit; petals 5, imbricate in bud; disc 5-lobate, annular or the lobes + sepaarte; stamens 5, inserted at the base or margin of the disc; ovary unilocular, the solitary ovule subapical, the styles 3, terminal, separate, short. Fruit drupaceous, narrowly oblong to ovoid or subglobose, ? terete, coriaceous, rostrate; seed oblong, the testa membranous.
