Notes:
This monotypic genus was separated from Hoffmannia by its supposedly dry rather than fleshy fruits and sessile, glomerulate, red inflorescences. Similar inflorescences are found in Hoffmannia areolata, Hoffmannia williamsii, and some other species of this genus. The fruits may be spongy and rather dry but are not capsular or completely distinct from fruits of Hoffmannia. Therefore it has been synonymized.
