General/Distribution: A small genus of about 6-8 species distributed in Indo-Malaya and Australia. One species is reported from Pakistan (Kashmir).

Woody climbers. Leaves opposite with 5-7 pairs of distinct nerves. Inflorescence terminal or axilary panicled cymes with small white flowers. Calyx 5-partite, lobes ovate, acute with small glands inside the base of the lobes. Corolla hypocrateriform with somewhat hairy throat, lobes over-lapping to the right. Stamens adnate at or below the middle of corolla tube, anther sagittate, lobes spurred, connivent to stigma. Disc 5-lobed. Carples apocarpous. Ovary hairy, ovules numerous. Style short, stigma columnar. Follicles cylindical, subcircular or compressed. Seeds somewhat oblong with narrowed tip, with a tuft of hairs at the apex.
