Trees or large shrubs, sometimes climbers, often polygamous. Leaves digitately compound, alternate; leaflets entire or serrate, stipules adnate. Inflorescence of racemes or panicles of umbels; bracts small, woolly. Sepals 5, margin usually entire. Petals 5-many; valvate. Stamens as many as the petals. Ovary as many locular as the number of petals. Styles free or united at the base. Fruit a fleshy drupe, angular when dry.
