Description
|
Dioecious trees. Leaves alternate, distichous; stipules wholly amplexicaul. Staminate inflorescences involucrate discoid heads. Staminate flowers definitely organized; perianth campanulate, broadly 4-dentate; stamens 4, the anthers basi- fixed, oblongoid. Pistillate inflorescences with a solitary prominently bracteate- involucrate flower, the ovary superior, the stigma with 2 widely exserted filiform lobes. Fruit a small slightly fleshy false drupe.
